More than just a photo

Anyone can take a photo that shows what you look like. I like photos that show who you really are. 

And I love it when my clients really 'get' my style. 

Whether it be embracing the weather (see what i did there? lol).

  Or embracing each other. 

Mum said the photo above (from a mini-session) exactly shows the craziness of their life at this point in time. It's always exciting when a client loves the same shots you do and she chose this one as the centrepiece of a collage. Mini-sessions are taken in the Park near the Wild Honey Studio in Aroona, near Caloundra, on the Sunshine Coast. 

Or we can head to Moffat Beach for some family lifestyle portraits (below) and have some fun on the beach. 

And once again, from a photographer's point of view, it's pure bliss when a client loves some of the more abstract shots (like the one below) as much as you do.

Hi. We've had a couple of questions about our 1st Birthday Cake Smash and YES, we do take 'before' pics. We get some family portraits and some of bub in the good clothes before we introduce the cake. Such great 1st birthday memories!

I can't believe it's been over two years since I photographed Amanda and Warren's wedding at a Gold Coast winery. But the evidence of time passing is as cute as a button and 1 year old already! Sarah caught up with this seriously gorgeous family when they were visiting recently and they had a great time updating their photos on the beach.

What is a Cake Smash?

A cake smash is a fun way to celebrate your child's first birthday and have it documented forever with professional photos. It's pretty simple really, have everything ready, sit the baby down, introduce cake, and see what happens. It's a smash!

Family Portraits at the Beach!

Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing this lovely little family down at their local beach in Warana! After we had been rained out once previously, our wait was rewarded by great weather and some gorgeous late afternoon light. We were also joined by Oscar, the family dog, who didn't want to miss out on the fun. Here is a sneak peak of our session at the beach! Sarah :)

Family Portraits in Maleny

I'm a bit behind on my blogging again....oops sorry! We have been crazy busy lately with everyone getting their orders in before Christmas, which isn't too far away :). Which reminds me if you are thinking of having a portrait session or would like some great Christmas pressies for relatives don't leave it too late to order your prints! Our last date for print orders is Monday 5th December.

Anyway back to a lovely family portrait session I shot a few weeks ago in beautiful Maleny. Everytime I visit the Sunshine Coast Hinterland it feels a million miles away - its so beautiful. Here are a few images from that session.... Sarah :)

 

Little Cove Family Portraits

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Sienna's family at the gorgeous Little Cove in Noosa. Sienna had visited us at the studio back in July when she was just 6 weeks old (sporting a very cute pink hat), so this time it was the turn of the whole family!

The weather had been a bit hit and miss throughout the week but luckily the predicted storms managed to hold off just long enough for me to capture some lovely family moments together; natural and relaxed.

Nearing the end of our session we kept our eyes on the dark blue mass of storm cloud heading our way - it made for beautiful light and I love the dark skies in the background! We had just made it back to our cars before we were pelted with hail - good timing and my first time seeing hail in Australia! A Walk in the Park

A couple of weekends ago I had the pleasure of photographing this lovely little family during one of our Family Portrait Mini Sessions in our local park. Just a 'walk in the park' these sessions are designed to be relaxed and fun - and this session certainly was! Mum, Dad and the two girls were just great... I hope you enjoy my sneak peak at a few of the images taken that morning! Sarah :)

Three generations, bubbles and blankets

I'm back! Yes, I survived my whale shark experience (which I have to add was amazing! The largest fish in the ocean, they definitely earn their title of being the gentle giants of the sea. So graceful!), so I am now fully back into the throws of things back at the studio. Debbie and I both have got a busy week ahead so much so that our paths are barely just crossing!

So today in the studio we were really fortunate to have a family of 3 generations - Nanna, Mum and the 2 children. It's always so special to be able to capture grandparents with their grandkids. Plus we were doubly fortunate as this was the second visit for little Takarli who was 6 months old when Debbie photographed her - so not so little anymore! Here are just a couple of sneak peaks from their session. Nanna brought along a lovely blanket she had knitted, and we tried out our new super duper bubble gun!

It's been a gorgeous day here on the Sunshine Coast.  A beautiful morning, blue skies and yes, the sun was even shining!... just perfect to introduce our Family Portrait Mini Sessions! Photographed in our lovely, landscaped, local park near Caloundra, Mini Sessions are ideal for updating your family portrait in a relaxed environment; no stress, no hassle. Just a wander through our local park with the kids, and you end up with precious memories of their growing years in a beautiful natural setting.
