Here is Ava with her family at the Maroochy Botanic Gardens before she smooshed her cake.

Sunshine Coast Family Portraits (for Christmas?)

How many weeks until Christmas?
Not enough!!!

When was the last time you had your family photographed professionally?  Is it time to update for Christmas? If you don't have time for a full location portrait session, we do Mini-Sessions at the park near the studio and we have a special offer on leading up to Christmas.

You have a 1/2 hour photo shoot in the park and choose one 8x12 inch print and get the hi-res digital file as well, all included for only $150. There's also a special offer on custom designed Christmas Cards but you'll have to be quick to get those in time.

Click here  to see one of our mini-sessions in the park or here for another one.

Don't let another year go by.
BOOK NOW in time for CHRISTMAS!

Sunshine Coast Natural Family Portraits on the beach.

I can't believe it's been over two years since I photographed Amanda and Warren's wedding at a Gold Coast winery. But the evidence of time passing is as cute as a button and 1 year old already! Sarah caught up with this seriously gorgeous family when they were visiting recently and they had a great time updating their photos on the beach.
Have you had family photos taken recently? We'd love to create treasured memories for you and your loved ones. Give us a call.

If you'd like to have a quick look back two years ago HERE's a link to some photos from the wedding.

What is a Cake Smash?

A cake smash is a fun way to celebrate your child's first birthday and have it documented forever with professional photos. It's pretty simple really, have everything ready, sit the baby down, introduce cake, and see what happens. It's a smash!
If you'd like more information send us an email or give us a call. We'll tell you all about it.

Mapleton Magic and the last 'hurrah'

As delightful as weddings are, and this one especially so, we'd like to take this opportunity to announce that Wild Honey Photography are no longer taking bookings for wedding photography. We are now exclusively specialising in family portraiture on the Sunshine Coast.

So congratulations to Lynda and David, not only on the start of their married life, but on being our lucky last wedding clients (ok, never say never, but, you know, we're not actively out there looking for weddings to photograph).  The Sunshine Coast Hinterland at Boorman Eco Lodge provided the setting for a gorgeous day.  Sunny blue skies, fantastic scenery, a vintage theme and lovely, lovely people, what more could you ask for.

Sarah had a wonderful time sharing in Lynda and David's special day and capturing all the special little details that Lynda went to so much trouble to organise.

"Many best wishes for your future together, Lynda and David, and we look forward to seeing you back at Wild Honey Photography when the time comes to update your family photos."

Cheers
Deb and Sarah.

Spring Babies

Along with the glorious sunshine we have a bevy of beautiful babies sporting flowers to help us welcome Spring at the Wild Honey Beehive. They all look delighted to be discovering their first experience of the new season. I don't mind winter but I'm glad to have this one behind us. It's been a relentless few months with lots of dramas going on behind the scenes. Each of us has been affected by health issues in one way or another, if not ourselves than those close to us. Tracey's husband is recovering from heart surgery. Sarah had a worrying time getting all sorts of tests done and a quick stint in hospital. And I had a friend and colleague go in for emergency surgery, resulting in me taking on his workload for a few weeks. It's been a busy, stressful time. And as a grand finale, we had a computer crash on the last day of winter.
Fortunately, everyone seems to be on the mend now, even the computer.

So to Melanie, Chloe, Alexia, Sophia, Lucy, Amarlia, Maddison, Arlette and Kiarah, thank you for  making our spring even brighter.

Monkeying Around

Oh there was much monkeying around in the studio yesterday morning as I had 3 little chappies, including brothers, who had fun modelling our beanies! I couldn't resist to share... don't you think they look cute?! :)

Charlie - Sunshine Coast Family Photographers

Charlie was such a happy chappy. But he did need a quick nap with his little green frog in the middle of his session. After that he was all smiles again.

He's just so gosh darn cute! And suits his hat perfectly, don't you think?

Wild Honey Photography - puppies, families, babies, burst pipes and lots of love.

The poor ol' blog gets a bit neglected, but the Facebook page is getting lots of love. Pop over there to see all the latest going's on. Wild Honey Facebook Page and don't forget to 'like' us while you're there.
But here's a bit of an update if you've missed it.
Sarah is in the UK for 6 weeks and we're all waiting for photos of her 2-year-old identical triplet nephews. But they just don't stay in the one spot long enough to get a photo! So my daughter Rebekah and I decided to use the word 'triplet' as round one of a Mother vs Daughter challenge.
Here's the photo I submitted. You can see the results of the challenge on Facebook.

When it rains it pours. Or maybe all the water in this case is from a burst pipe. Our admin and office guru, Tracey, who keeps things ticking over with a thousand and one tasks behind the scenes at Wild Honey and who is now also showing you your photos while Sarah is away, has been a little scarce this week. Already a busy lady with 6 kids, she brings those same organisational skills to work with her. But last week, just a few hours after welcoming her eldest son back from America with his new lady, a pipe burst and flooded their house and they've ALL had to evacuate.
Here's a photo we took of some of her extended brood last year.
Come back soon Trace, even if it's just to escape the madness! We miss you.

The lovely Helga is in the studio a couple of days a week photographing bundles of cuteness that come our way from Suzel at Impressionable Kids. I went shopping last week and bought some new fabric and lace to use in the photos. We don't like to get too gimmicky with our photos as we aim for them to be timeless and classic and focus on your baby, not the props. But the lovely antique looking lace should fit in just nicely for the girls. And it doesn't hurt to add a bit of colour now and then and I'll share the photos of our cute model we had to try out the new soft spotty fabric for the boys real soon.

In between all that, I am back and forth between Melbourne and Caloundra. I landed back in Melbourne yesterday and after the beautiful, warm, sunny weather on the Coast, it's just a wee bit chilly down here. I'm teaching, studying and working on a project I'll be exhibiting later this year. Here's a link to that project and one of the images. same same beloved

So that's a quick update on us. What's been happening in your world?

Cheerio for now,
Deborah
